APPLE DEVICE MANAGEMENT FOR BUSINESS
Apple Device Management, MDM and Zero-Touch Deployment for New Jersey Businesses
MacWorks 360 helps businesses standardize, secure and deploy company-owned Macs, iPhones and iPads with Apple Business Manager and Addigy—from first assessment through new-hire onboarding and ongoing management.
Move from manually configured devices to a repeatable Apple deployment process
Device management is useful when setup varies from employee to employee, business applications are installed by hand, former staff retain access, security settings are difficult to verify, or a growing team needs a reliable way to prepare and recover company devices.
Mac management
Inventory, configuration policies, application deployment, FileVault, operating-system management and remote support for eligible company Macs.
iPhone and iPad management
Enrollment, restrictions, application distribution and security-policy planning for company-owned mobile Apple devices included in the scope.
New-hire deployment
Prepare accounts, applications, settings and access so an employee receives a device that is ready for the approved business workflow.
The Apple management technologies MacWorks 360 implements
Apple Business Manager
MacWorks 360 can help organize eligible company-owned devices, connect Apple Business Manager to the management environment, plan Managed Apple Accounts and configure Automated Device Enrollment when Apple purchasing and ownership requirements are met.
Addigy
Addigy is the only RMM and Apple-device-management platform MacWorks 360 implements. It provides the management layer for supported inventory, policies, software deployment, monitoring, remote assistance and ongoing administration.
Clear platform scope: MacWorks 360 does not implement Jamf, Mosyle or Microsoft Intune as its RMM/MDM platform. Those products may be discussed during a migration assessment, but proposed Apple device management is built around Addigy.
What an Apple device-management project can include
| Service area | Possible scope | Business result |
|---|---|---|
| Discovery and inventory | Review devices, ownership, users, locations, applications, accounts and current management tools. | A documented starting point and fewer surprises during deployment. |
| Apple Business Manager | Organization setup or review, device assignment, roles, federation considerations and connection to Addigy. | Clearer ownership and a foundation for automated enrollment. |
| Automated Device Enrollment | Configure eligible devices to enroll during Setup Assistant with approved management requirements. | More consistent setup and less hands-on IT work. |
| Applications and configuration | Deploy approved software, Wi-Fi, settings, security policies and business configuration profiles. | Employees receive a more standardized environment. |
| Security controls | FileVault, updates, passcode requirements, administrative access, endpoint controls and lost-device response planning. | Better visibility and practical reduction of avoidable risk. |
| Identity and productivity | Coordinate Apple access with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID or Google Workspace workflows when included in the proposal. | More consistent sign-in, licensing and employee access. |
| Lifecycle operations | New-hire onboarding, role changes, offboarding, device reassignment, retirement and remote lock or wipe where supported. | Clear responsibility throughout the device lifecycle. |
Exact capabilities depend on device ownership, model, operating-system support, enrollment method, Apple and third-party licensing, and the approved agreement.
Zero-touch deployment: what it means in practice
“Zero-touch” does not mean zero planning. It means the preparation happens before the device reaches the employee. When a supported company-owned Apple device is properly assigned in Apple Business Manager, Automated Device Enrollment can direct it into Addigy during Setup Assistant. Approved settings and applications can then be delivered according to policy.
Before shipment
Confirm purchasing eligibility, assign the device, define the user role and approve the configuration and application set.
During setup
The employee connects to the internet, completes the approved Setup Assistant flow and enrolls in management.
After enrollment
Addigy applies policies and applications, reports device status and enables the agreed support and lifecycle workflow.
New-hire onboarding and secure offboarding
Onboarding
- Assign a company-owned device and role
- Enroll through the approved Apple Business Manager and Addigy workflow
- Deploy required applications and security settings
- Coordinate Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace access when scoped
- Confirm backup, support and documentation expectations
Offboarding
- Coordinate account and application-access removal
- Recover company devices and business data
- Lock or wipe managed devices where supported and authorized
- Remove or reassign licenses
- Prepare returned equipment for the next approved user or retirement
Migrating unmanaged or differently managed Apple devices
Existing devices do not always need to be erased, but the safest path depends on ownership, current enrollment, Apple Business Manager assignment, local data, security state and the previous tool. MacWorks 360 begins with discovery, backup and access verification, then proposes a staged migration.
Assess
Inventory devices and identify ownership, enrollment, accounts, applications, data and current policies.
Design
Define Addigy policies, Apple Business Manager requirements, user communication, testing and rollback considerations.
Pilot
Validate the process with representative devices before broad deployment whenever the environment warrants it.
Deploy
Enroll approved devices in stages, confirm applications and access, and resolve exceptions.
Operate
Document ownership, support, onboarding, offboarding, updates and lifecycle responsibilities.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Apple device management FAQs
Which MDM platform does MacWorks 360 implement?
Addigy is the only RMM and Apple-device-management platform MacWorks 360 implements.
Can you manage Macs, iPhones and iPads?
Yes, eligible company-owned Macs, iPhones and iPads can be included when their management requirements and supported enrollment methods are documented in the proposal.
Is Apple Business Manager the same as MDM?
No. Apple Business Manager establishes organizational ownership and connects eligible devices and services to an MDM platform. Addigy supplies the management policies, deployment and operational capabilities.
Can existing unmanaged devices be enrolled?
Often, yes. The method depends on ownership, model, operating system and whether the device can be assigned through Apple Business Manager. Some enrollment changes may require user action or an erase, so the migration is assessed before work begins.
Can Apple devices integrate with Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace?
MacWorks 360 can coordinate supported Apple-device workflows with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID or Google Workspace when those services are included in the agreed scope. Exact identity and federation requirements are reviewed during assessment.
Does zero-touch deployment eliminate all setup?
No. It reduces hands-on IT work after the device reaches the employee. Purchasing, Apple Business Manager assignment, policies, applications, identity and testing must be prepared in advance.
